Your heart is beating quickly. Your breathing is shallow. You are having irrational thoughts, but despite your arguing in your head, your stomach continues to tighten. You are experiencing anxiety. You are off floating in the wind with no direction in particular. You are in need of some Grounding. Pick a spot of the ceiling and stare. Blink as little as possible. Notice everything you can see. Light, textures, who and what. Your eyes will begin to feel heavy and you will want to close them, but resist. Tell the person you are with what you can see and feel. Breath in deeply and allow yourself to close your eyes. Recount what you could see with your eyes open. Be present in the moment and know this moment is all you are being asked to face.
